On our way to becoming a carbon-neutral business

Electrio has always had a keen interest in sustainability. We work with lots of different businesses to help them improve energy efficiency and reduce their carbon emissions. So it makes sense that we should do the same for our own organisation.

As part of our ongoing journey to become a carbon neutral business we have just taken delivery of a third electric van to add to our ever-growing EV fleet.

Becoming energy self-sufficient

We now run a total of three electric vans and four electric company cars. These are charged using power generated by photo voltaic (PV) solar panels that we have installed on the roof of our offices.

When the sun shines our PV solar panels generate enough power to supply our offices and charge our EVs via our load monitoring Eco chargers. And we can export any surplus to the grid!

Installing battery storage is the next stage of our net zero plan. This will allow us to make the best use of any energy generated when the office or vehicles don’t need it.

It is very satisfying to be able to harness the power of the sun to help us move ever-closer to becoming a carbon-neutral organisation.
