Keeping production lines rolling

As producers of the nation’s most popular cheese brand, Cathedral City, manufacturers, Dairy Crest has a state of the art packaging centre based in Frome, Somerset. This large facility is vital link in Dairy Crest’s supply chain to ensure supermarket shelves remain stocked with their cheese brands.

 

In May 2017 Electrio’s team of electrical engineers successfully installed additional electrical supplies at various locations throughout the Dairy Crest site in Frome. This necessary work included upgrades to production line power.

Electrio’s engineers worked with the production team at Frome to facilitate this upgrade. Due to production deadlines, the installation work could only be carried out when production lines were made accessible to our engineers, who used temporary screening around the working area.

All work around the production lines had to be completed in a controlled manner, because of the environment all the cable containment needed to conform to a high standard. For this reason, surface stainless steel conduit was used.
