Electrio collaborated with the estates team at University Hospitals Bristol and the Wallace and Gromit Charity, The Grand Appeal, to provide a working solution for the iconic Lollipop Be-Bop lights located outside the Bristol Children's Hospital.
Our team worked with Connected Light to design a custom solution using new LED hoops, Casambi smart lighting control and other new technologies to repair the lighting of this much loved sculpture which had been out of operation for more than 10 years.
The project involved installing new custom-made illuminated hoops within the Lollipop structures using the existing cables to power the new lights. The sculpture remained in-situ throughout meaning installation work needed to be carried out at height. Our teams worked really well to meet the various challenges associated with the project and the outcome was more than worth the effort.
The Lollipop Be-Bop light sculpture now has a control panel within the hospital, making it fully interactive allowing patients and families to activate fun light sequences and change the colours of the hoops - read more here
