Electrical installation for new SoNAR Watch Retrieve Ambulance Station
Installation and Maintenance | Healthcare
Electrio recently completed the electrical services installation for the new Southwest Neonatal Advice and Retrieval (SoNAR) Ambulance Station for University Hospitals Bristol and Weston, located at Bradley Stoke.
The project included a complete refurbishment of the existing building, as well as the construction of new office space, equipment rooms, showers, toilets, and specialised service areas.
To supply adequate power to meet the Ambulance Service’s requirements a main supply was brought into the building to feed a new LV MCCB panel board, which then fed local distribution boards.
Metal trunking containment spines were then installed throughout the ceiling voids which allowed secondary steel conduit containment systems to feed all the electrical outlets from the new distribution boards.
High spec and standards
This was a fast-track project carried out over a 12-week period. The majority of work done by our team was carried out towards the end of the project following the construction phase of the new build area. During this phase of the project all areas around the new build were completed, including the LV distribution system and high-level service power.
This high spec project was completed to an extremely high standard. As part of the final handover on completion, a detailed manual was provided incorporating a set of As-Fitted drawings. Electrio provided the As-Fitted drawing for the emergency lighting with details of recorded light levels as part of this comprehensive document.
The SoNAR project was installed following a full design supplied by QED engineering. The building design was done by Stretto Architects and KP Wilton was the main contractor.
